Ring
A reverse belly ring is a great look
if you’ve been thinking about a navel ring but want something a little
bit out of the ordinary. Most belly button piercings are done through
the skin at the top of the belly button, with the ring going through
the top and then coming out through the center. A reverse belly ring,
on the other hand, goes through the center and comes out through the
bottom.
There are a couple of reasons to get a
reverse belly ring, including:
- It looks good and is different. If
you like the idea of a belly ring but want something that’s a bit
more unique, the reverse belly ring is a good choice.
- If you’ve had a standard belly ring
in the past that closed over, you may not be able to get it
re-pierced because of scar tissue. A reverse belly ring is a good
solution that lets you get re-pierced without complications.
- In some cases, a piercer will
suggest a reverse belly ring because of the shape or type of belly
button you have for the sake of safety or appearance. Discuss you
options with your piercer and take his or her advice for the best
results.
- Some people like the effect of a
double piercing, getting both a standard and a reverse belly ring.
The care of a reverse belly ring is
essentially the same as for any belly ring, although you may need to
be a bit more careful with your jeans and waistbands. Wearing low rise
clothes will be even more important since the piercing is lower with a
reverse belly ring (making this style even sexier!).
