> How do you insert a nose
ring?
by All Piercings Staff Writer
A) If you have a nose piercing (or for
that matter any piercing) it is imperative that you know how to insert
and remove your jewelry properly. Here is a step by step process to
help you to insert your nose ring:
1. CLEAN YOUR HANDS.
2. Empty some space on a flat hard surface and clean it thoroughly
using regular water and soap and dry it with a fresh paper towel.
3. Place another fresh paper napkin onto the cleaned space. Your WORK
SPACE is now ready.
4. CLEAN YOUR HANDS.
5. Now remove your nose ring from its packet. If it is not sterilized
then sterilize it using antibacterial soap and water. If it is already
sterilized then do not touch it, just let it drop onto your work
space.
6. After this, nicely wash your nose and clean the piercing with soap.
Remove your old jewelry (if it hasn’t previously already been removed)
using a greasing agent to facilitate removal.
7. Once more, CLEAN YOUR HANDS.
8. Prepare your nose ring for insertion. Remove the ball by holding
the ring with one hand and with the other pull the bead out. Bend the
ring and open it up a bit.
9. Press the skin near the piercing and put the ring inside one hole.
10. Massage from the inside and continue doing so till you feel the
ring coming out on the other side.
11. Finish inserting the ring fully, bend it shut, and then snap the
ball firmly in place. See that the ball is not rotating very freely.
If it is then remove it, twist the ring tighter, and once again close
the ball.
12. Clean the ring once more and dry it gently.
A to-do list before insertion:
· Inserting a nose ring is not very tough, but it is a good idea to
try and practice opening and closing the ball of the ring to get a
fair idea of what you’re doing.
· Very thin or very thick rings can pose a problem to insert and at
times you may even need special tools. Make sure they are at hand
prior to insertion.
· If you have bought new jewelry and it is still in its sterile
packaging, DO NOT mess with it till the time of insertion.
· A hot compress applied to the nose helps to soften the skin and
makes the entire insertion process a bit easier.
· If your new nose ring is thicker than the old one, you may have to
“stretch” the piercing, which is an entirely different procedure than
that of inserting.
And at the end of it, if all this seems too much for you to handle,
pay a professional to do it and make life easier for yourself.
